Field of Application ATA Convention

Istanbul Convention and its Annexes A, B.1, B.2, B.3, B.5, B.6, B.7 and D with a reservation in respect of Article 4, paragraph 1 of the Annex D and items 12 and 13 in the Appendix to the Annex D.

Other Applications : ATA Carnets are accepted for transit.
ATA Carnets are accepted for postal traffic.
ATA Carnets are accepted for unaccompanied goods.

Languages in which Carnets should be completed : English. The Customs may require a translation of General list in Kazakh or Russian when ATA Carnets completed in English or any other language

Customs Offices : All Customs offices in Kazakhstan are entitled to handle ATA Carnets during opening hours.

Special observations Kazakhstan is, not counting the Caspian Sea, a landlocked country surrounded by neighbours who are not (yet) members of the Chain and/or neighbours with limitations in the scope of application, for example, none acceptance of transit. This makes Kazakhstan from certain directions only accessible by air. It is therefore advisable to carefully check the applicants'itinerary.
