Field of Application ATA Convention

The use of ATA Carnets is authorized, under national laws and regulations,
for temporary admission operations concerning goods covered by the
following International Conventions:
- "Professional equipment" Convention
- "Fairs and Exhibitions" Convention
- "Commercial samples" Convention
- "Scientific equipment" Convention
- "Pedagogic material" Convention

Other applications : ATA Carnets are accepted for postal traffic.
ATA Carnets are not accepted for transit
ATA Carnets are accepted for unaccompanied consignment

Languages in which Carnets should be completed : French. The Customs may require a translation if the Carnet is completed in any other language.

Customs Offices : Customs offices authorized to accept ATA Carnets:
- Dakar Port
- Postal Depot
- Dakar Yoff
(1) Dakar Port and Postal Depot:
Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon – From 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: from 8 a.m. to 12 noon – from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: from 8 a.m. to 12 noon
Completion of entry formalities may be authorized outside legal office hours during fairs, exhibitions or other events.
(2) Dakar Yoff: day and night.
